The Paul G. Desmarais pavilion, built in 1996, is occupied by two departments of the faculty of medicine and by research groups.
Our mandate was to eliminate problems around the accumulation of water behind the brick facing, caused by design flaws in the placement of the flashings, thus affecting the integrity of the waterproofing membranes. It was necessary to completely dismantle the masonry and the insulation system to correct these defects.
The work was carried out under considerable constraints with respect to noise given the presence of employees and researchers on the one hand and of laboratory animals on the other.
- Striped down the facing and the insulation system
- Installed a new insulation and waterproofing system
- Replaced certain elements of the curtain wall
- Installed a new brick facing
